Monitoring from around the country suggests that pollen counts are not only kicking in early, but they may break records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experts say climate change and shifting weather patterns may be largely to blame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an example, pollen counts in Atlanta were in the \u201cextreme high\u201d range last week, according to the pollen monitor\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atlantaallergy.com\/pollen_counts\/index\/2023\/03\/07\" target=\"_blank\">Atlanta Allergy and Asthma<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 the earliest that counts have hit this level in 30 years. Measures above 1,500 indicate pollen is in the \u201cextreme high\u201d zone, and on Monday, March 6, total pollen count reached 1,605.
