Depression Diagnosis More Than Doubles Risk of Dementia

A large new study finds the likelihood of having dementia persists whether depression is identified in early, middle, or late life.

Adults diagnosed with depression at any age are more than twice as likely to develop dementia later in life compared with those without depression, according to an analysis of data from more than one million individuals over the course of nearly four decades.
