Several unapproved inhalants being marketed to “promote alertness and boost energy” contain mostly ammonia, a toxic gas that can sometimes cause severe symptoms when inhaled, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned(opens in new tab) Monday (May 1).
